After Ledger, are Trezor cold wallets having problems too?
Trezor has warned that a Safe 5 wallet purchased through reseller CryptoBilis may have been implanted with malicious hardware that could steal users’ recovery phrases.
⚠️ According to reports, the hardware can read screen information and transmit recovery phrases externally over a mobile network when the device is powered on.
Trezor has not yet inspected the device itself, but considers the report credible and has decided to issue a warning as a precaution.
CryptoBilis was previously implicated in a tampering incident involving Ledger wallets. Trezor advises users who purchased wallets through this channel since March 2026 to transfer their assets to a secure wallet as soon as possible and use a brand-new recovery phrase.
