【The day Binance was hacked for $6.3 billion, I spent 15 hours minting new projects on-chain】

A little after 4 a.m. this morning, funds started flowing abnormally out of Binance’s hot wallet. By the time the official announcement came out, the figure had been set at around $6.3 billion.

The official explanation is crucial: a DevOps engineer’s laptop was compromised, allowing the attacker to access server containers and submit unauthorized withdrawals. The official statement was clear: no evidence has been found that any wallet private keys were exposed.

That’s a completely different story from the “private keys were leaked” rumor going around.

This morning, instead of watching the market, I ran a test: what could I achieve in 15 hours of minting new projects with just a Binance AI wallet?

Here are the results:

4 free NFTs, total cost 4 cents (gas only)
1 paid project, 12 USDT, now down 40%
Two NFTs are soulbound and can’t be sold by design
One gifted 100 million tokens; the pool hasn’t launched, so the wallet values them at 0

The bottom line: the free ones are all paper wealth, and the only thing I actually paid for lost me $4.75.

I also came across some data that’s even more worth looking at than those numbers:

A research lab tracked 3,500 real-money accounts for six months. AI trading bots had a 41% win rate, while retail traders in the same market had a 50% win rate. The bots couldn’t beat people.

In another live trading competition, six top models each started with $10,000 on Hyperliquid, and four took heavy losses: Claude lost 30.8%, Grok lost 45.3%, Gemini lost 56.7%, and GPT-5 lost 62.7%. Only Qwen and DeepSeek made a profit.

So the most valuable thing this time wasn’t those four NFTs—it was figuring out what AI can and can’t do on-chain:

What it can do: check contracts for backdoors, calculate slippage, monitor trigger prices, and lay out the execution cost of every step.
What it can’t do: decide for you whether you should buy, or secure a position in a matter of seconds.

The first saves time; the second is a gamble.

DYOR.
