The hacker continues to sell $TRX , transferring out about 15.5 million TRX today (worth approximately $5.15 million), and has already sold about half! Due to DEX liquidity constraints, the remaining roughly 670 million TRX worth about $220 million may take a long time to sell off.
【Transfers are speeding up】(Beijing time, October 30; transaction-by-transaction on-chain data)
- A whale address held 46.38 million TRX this morning and now has 30.9 million left, having transferred out about 15.5 million TRX today
- In the morning, each transaction involved tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of TRX; after 2 p.m., each involved 500,000 to 1.4 million TRX. In just one hour, from 2 to 3 p.m., about 5.7 million TRX was transferred out
- Another whale holding 638 million TRX has not moved a single coin so far
【How they’re selling】
- Dozens of pre-activated addresses first split up the coins, then consolidate them into a new address
- Each SunSwap sale involves 400,000 to 700,000 TRX, converted into USDT. Within 20 to 80 seconds, the entire amount is sent via the USDT0 cross-chain bridge to Ethereum, then converted into ETH
- About 1.33 million USDT has been bridged in total today, with the largest single transfer at about 240,000
- THORChain is basically a dead end: 1.64 million TRX was deposited, but only about 30 ETH was received; roughly 960,000 TRX was returned. The pool is too shallow to meet the hacker’s minimum price
【Why it will take a long time to sell (estimate)】
- At today’s pace of selling hundreds of thousands to a few million TRX per hour, selling all 670 million could take about one to two weeks—assuming the selling continues nonstop and the price doesn’t get crushed. In practice, it could take even longer
- The main SunSwap pool has only about 190 million WTRX, while the hacker holds more than three times that amount in TRX. Selling it all at once would crash the price
- Buy orders within 2% of TRX’s price across several major exchanges total less than $1 million
- USDT from the sales could be frozen on Tron at any time, so each sale is bridged out immediately
Follow me for continued monitoring of the hacker’s addresses.
