The money was gone, and only Tether and Circle were able to freeze it. Centralization brings convenience, but there’s a price: someone else holds the kill switch. Preliminary reports suggest it may have started with an engineer’s hacked laptop—in other words, the weakest link: the human.

Now, AI. Attack preparation is shrinking from weeks to minutes: phishing, context spoofing, and target selection cost almost nothing and can be scaled up. The arms race has begun, and it’s the exchanges’ and banks’ move. An attacker needs just one vulnerability; a defender needs to close them all.

My takeaway is that you should keep only the funds you need for trading on the exchange and withdraw the rest to your own keys. Not your keys, not your coins.

Will you keep your funds on the exchange after this news? 👇
