The market has fallen below 78,000; PARTI surged 46% in a day, but I’m not chasing it
Bitcoin was at $77,941 around noon today, down 2.32% in 24 hours. Ethereum was at $2,229, down 3.30%, and Solana was at $96.87, down 2.72%. The market is generally trending downward: it lost the $80,000 level yesterday and dipped below $78,000 again today. Overnight, the news was unsettled too. Binance said it is investigating a suspected security incident, has frozen some assets and suspended deposits and withdrawals, and will cover any losses. The investigation is ongoing, and reports vary on the amount involved, so I won’t give a figure here.
The token I want to single out today is PARTI, the token of Particle Network. It’s working on chain abstraction, which lets users access apps on different chains without switching networks. CoinGecko’s snapshot around noon today showed it at $0.057, up 46.4% in 24 hours and 75.7% in seven days, with about $185 million in 24-hour trading volume—putting it at the top of the gainers list.
Two things are keeping me on the sidelines. First, the volatility itself: it hit a low of $0.031 and surged to a high of $0.065 in a single day, a difference of more than twofold. In a range like that, even if you get the direction half right, one sharp move could shake you out. Second, its current position: it’s up 75.7% in seven days, and the current price is still more than 80% below its high of $0.42 last May. It has already made a run, so this isn’t a new trend just getting started from the bottom.
After looking around, I couldn’t find any fresh news that would justify a 46% rally. The project hasn’t announced any major new developments. A rally without news, with the broader market falling and the Binance incident still under investigation, means chasing it would be betting that two things will both turn out well. I’m not willing to make that bet.
My call is to wait and not chase. Let the broader market stabilize first. If PARTI’s volume contracts and its price still holds up, there’s no harm in taking another look then. Buying at this level is not much different from catching something flying at you with your eyes closed.
When the broader market is falling, would you see a coin up 46% against the trend as an opportunity, or just scroll past it?

The above is just my personal opinion, not investment advice. Don’t place trades based on what I say, whether prices go up or down.
