Before looking at fund flows, first understand open interest.
Every open contract has both a long and a short position, so open interest itself cannot distinguish between longs and shorts. Across the entire market, the total number of long positions always equals the total number of short positions.
Rising prices with rising open interest are often seen as longs actively entering the market, while falling prices with rising open interest are often seen as new shorts actively entering.
Indicators can be inaccurate, so don't skip your stop-loss: thinking through how you'll respond if your judgment is wrong is more important than guessing correctly.
