☀️ Uncle’s Morning Brief | 10.30
AWS grew 39.3%, but Amazon still fell about 7% after hours; Google dropped 12.64% in a single day; Intel fell about 22% after hours.
CRYPTO
$BTC fell below 78K. In the short term, watch whether it can reclaim that level. If it continues to hold below it, 75K–76K is the next range to watch. For now, wait for signs of stability—no need to rush to call a bottom.
🇺🇸 U.S. stocks overnight
Amazon’s AWS revenue was about $46 billion, up 39.3% year over year—the fastest growth in nearly five years. But the group’s free cash flow over the past 12 months turned negative at $42.357 billion, and 2026 capital expenditure is expected to be about $220 billion. The stock fell about 7% after hours. Google plunged 12.64% in a single day; Intel’s Q4 guidance fell short of expectations, sending shares down about 22% after hours.
These are not the same kind of headwind for all three companies: Amazon faces concerns over capital expenditure and cash flow; Google, earnings expectations and returns on investment; Intel, supply constraints and pressure on PC demand.
🇨🇳 A-shares before the open
Yesterday, the Shanghai Composite fell 0.82% and the ChiNext fell 4.45%, with tech stocks clearly under pressure. Zhongji Innolight posted Q3 net profit of 8.587 billion yuan, up 173.74% year over year, and plans to cancel 5.6531 million repurchased shares. Eoptolink’s Q3 net profit rose 61.15% year over year.
Today, watch whether computing-power stocks find support after opening lower, and whether banks continue to rise against the trend. Earnings growth supports fundamentals; it is not an automatic safety net for share prices.
🇭🇰 Hong Kong stocks
The Hang Seng Index fell 0.59% yesterday, closing at 22,958.65. Southbound funds recorded net selling of HK$3.359 billion. Watch how the market behaves around 23,000.
🌏 Asia-Pacific
South Korea’s KOSPI fell 1.24% yesterday. Samsung declined while SK hynix rose against the trend, showing a clear divergence within the market. When memory stocks pull back, distinguish between profit-taking and changes in fundamentals.
🛢️ Oil and gold
Starting at midnight on October 29, domestic gasoline and diesel prices rose by 345 yuan and 335 yuan per tonne, respectively—less than the amount implied by the pricing mechanism, following another government adjustment.
💎 Uncle’s take
AI is still growing, but that growth must prove it can cover capital expenditure and ultimately turn into cash flow. For A-shares today, the concern isn’t a lower open—it’s a lack of support for core assets. Watch price and volume after the open before talking about buying the dip.
