The whole market is getting pummeled—what makes it think it can charge higher all by itself? $HYPE
Opened the app this morning and BTC had fallen back to around $79,000. SOL was back below $100, too. It's the only one charging higher, hovering around $90 as I write this, up about 15% in 24 hours. It's got me seeing red.
The reason for the jump is yesterday's news: ICE, the company behind the NYSE, signed a formal agreement with TradeXYZ to offer compliant perpetuals to U.S. retail traders on its chain. ICE will handle the exchange and clearing, while TradeXYZ handles the market design. Sounds pretty impressive.
But just a couple of days ago, I was saying that its Kraken initiative was still only on testnet, with regulatory approval nowhere in sight. Same story today: approval hasn't come through, there's no launch date, and what they signed is just an agreement to build something—not something you can use tomorrow.
At the peak of this rally, the chart briefly spiked above $97, just shy of that $98 high, but then it pulled back to around $90. The longer I stare at this line, the greener with envy I get.
I don't hold any, anyway. I watched from the sidelines a couple of days ago instead of getting in. Sure, I'm jealous today, but if it really breaks through that $98 level, being left behind is going to look even worse.
