I'm still shocked by the news 😳
This evening, billions disappeared from Binance hot wallets in just 40 minutes. About $3.3 billion left two Ethereum wallets. Other analysts estimate even more—≈$5.64 billion across three networks, including Bitcoin and Tron. The figures still vary. (financefeeds) (bitcoinsistemi)
I looked into what seems strange:
👉 the money went to brand-new addresses and moved on again within minutes
👉 everything was funded through Tornado Cash, which is a classic move for hackers
There is some good news: Tether and Circle have already frozen nearly $1.8 billion. That means the hackers won't be able to get some of it. (Cointelegraph)
For now, Binance is only saying that it is investigating the situation. CZ said it looks like a hack and that he expects all user funds to be covered. But there is no final confirmation of the amount yet, so for now this is what can be seen on the blockchain, not a proven fact. (bnonews) (cryptowisser)
What I'm doing personally:
✅ not selling in a panic
✅ checked my 2FA and anti-phishing code
✅ not clicking on any “compensation” or “verification” links, because scammers have definitely already sprung into action
I'm a little worried too, I won't lie. But crypto has weathered more than one situation like this. The main thing now is that we don't lose our heads 🙏
What do you think—will Binance cover everything? Let me know, I'm curious to hear 👇
