Two matches wrapped up Round 4 of the World Championship Swiss Stage last night, and four of the eight quarterfinal spots are now locked in.

T1 beat Movistar KOI 2–0, reaching the quarterfinals once again as three-time defending champions. The series peaked at 1.73 million viewers.
IG beat LYON 2–1, becoming the first LPL team to reach the quarterfinals this year—and making their first quarterfinal appearance since 2019. Game 1 took just 27 minutes. In Game 2, LYON dragged things out with Olaf, but in the deciding game, Caitlyn’s late-game damage and a Baron team fight with no casualties sealed the win.
The four teams that have advanced so far are Gen.G, Dplus KIA, T1, and IG. The remaining spots will be decided in the Swiss Stage on October 30 and 31.

My take: fourth seed IG has the most compelling story, while T1 looks most like a championship contender. The real drama of the quarterfinal draw is still to come. Which side are you backing: will IG keep writing their underdog story, or will T1 see their title-defense story through to the end?
