🚨 Kevin Warsh just prevented a market collapse
Everyone was bracing for a very hawkish stance from the Federal Reserve, but Warsh struck a different tone.
He acknowledged that inflation is still far too high, but didn’t confirm an interest rate hike in December. He noted that consumers are under pressure, but also clarified that the Federal Reserve hasn’t reached a firm conclusion about the path of monetary policy in the coming period.
At the same time, he pointed to economic growth and continued strength in the labor market as signs of underlying resilience.
So why isn’t the Federal Reserve taking a fully hawkish stance?
Much of the current inflation is due to geopolitical factors that the Federal Reserve can’t control. Raising interest rates too aggressively now risks stifling demand and pushing the economy into a recession.
