Bitcoin nodes breached by an AI vulnerability, Ethereum upgrade delayed again, funds are shifting positions
Everything was fine yesterday, but today Bitcoin nodes were brought down by an AI vulnerability. Nodes on Windows and Mac crashed outright, and details of the vulnerability have already been made public. This isn’t a minor bug—it’s a security issue affecting nodes across the entire network, enough to make short-term investors shudder.
Things aren’t looking good on the Ethereum side either. Developers have postponed the Glamsterdam upgrade on Hoodi, with no new date announced so far. ETH is currently at 2,321.05. Uncertainty around the upgrade has holders on edge, and with funds reluctant to stay put, short-term investors have already begun to retreat.
SOL is currently at 100.38. Three major chains have run into problems on the same day. This isn’t about the price action of a single coin—it’s sector rotation. Funds are shifting positions; it’s not that one particular coin has suddenly weakened. The whole market is being reallocated, and holders need to reassess their risk.
My view is that this wave of node security vulnerabilities will prompt short-term funds to leave BTC first and wait on the sidelines of other chains. Node security is foundational infrastructure, and when it has a problem, you can’t ignore it. No one will dare touch it until it’s fixed, and bears will seize the opportunity to short.
Tonight, I’ll be watching to see whether the BTC nodes are repaired. Whether they can be restored will determine the short-term direction.
