Brazilians can finally trade $SUI directly on a local exchange 🇧🇷
Sui announced officially on 10-29: Mercado Bitcoin, a leading platform in Latin America, has become the first exchange in Brazil to support transfers of Sui assets. MB also reposted the announcement.
1️⃣ Its 4.5 million customers can now buy, sell, deposit, and withdraw $SUI , $USDC , and USDsui (Sui’s native stablecoin)
2️⃣ USDsui will become available as loan collateral for MB users in Brazil
3️⃣ MB is also bringing its own RWA platform, regulated by the CVM and Brazil’s central bank, to Sui. Since 2019, it has issued 800+ tokenized assets across credit, lending, and real estate products
4️⃣ After Hashi mainnet, MB is “exploring” integrating native $BTC lending—note that it’s exploring, not launching
My take: There are ten listing announcements a day, but the third point here is worth a closer look. Bringing 800+ already-issued, regulated RWAs on-chain carries a lot more weight than adding another trading pair.
But don’t read too much into it: for now, the official announcement only points to “support for transfers + collateral + RWAs on Sui.” It gives no migration timeline, scale, or on-chain data. Let’s talk about the narrative playing out once assets are actually running on Sui and there are TVL figures to point to.
Latin America is a market with strong demand for stablecoins, and public blockchains are competing for exactly this kind of licensed local on-ramp. Just filtering, not shilling.
