$LSK Another long-established public blockchain is about to come to an end. Lisk will officially shut down on October 31. The news has continued to pressure the token price, which is now around 0.1638 U.S. dollars, with a 24-hour trading volume of about 6.91 million U.S. dollars and a market cap of only about 35.81 million U.S. dollars.

Why is the shutdown so destructive? The logic is actually very straightforward:

1. Project termination means the on-chain ecosystem loses maintenance, applications and developers leave, and the scenarios that originally supported token demand drop to zero;
2. Liquidity rapidly dries up, buy orders become thin, and even a little selling pressure can easily trigger a cascade;
3. Holders exit early out of panic, forming a negative feedback loop of “decline — selling — decline again.”

The biggest reminder from events like this is: a token does not have a floor just because it has been listed. When a team stops development and the roadmap is declared terminated, the valuation anchor quickly shifts from “ecosystem expectations” to “residual value trading,” and residual value often tends toward zero.

For those still in the market, the key is to be clear about what money you are making: are you speculating on short-term volatility, or are you long-term bagholding for a project that has already ended? This question is much more important than staring at the intraday chart.
