BTC is still hovering around $80,000, while IDOL has suddenly surged by nearly 90%!
Today, one coin on the list of top gainers is really catching attention.
MEET48 (IDOL).
Market snapshot as of October 29:
🔥 IDOL: +87.3% in 24 hours
💰 Price: around $0.01571
📊 24-hour trading volume: around $19 million (CoinGecko)
Scanning the Binance perpetual futures market shows:
IDOLUSDT: +86.7%
24-hour trading volume: about 91.3 million dollars
Note: these two trading volume figures refer to different markets, so they cannot simply be added together.
For comparison: during the same period, BTC continued to fluctuate around 80,000 dollars, and the leading coins generally did not show comparable growth.
Now that's interesting.
Why didn’t the market as a whole surge, while IDOL gained nearly 90% in a day?
I think the most important thing here is not the rise itself, but where the funds are flowing.
When the leading coins have no clear direction, short-term capital may concentrate on a few popular and volatile assets.
But there are three indicators to keep watching:
① Will the trading volume be sustained?
High activity today does not mean that buying demand will be the same tomorrow.
② Will the gains be sustained?
Suppose a coin rises by 87%, and then pulls back 30% from the peak — the actual gain will shrink to about 31%.
③ Is the futures market overheated?
If the price increase is mainly driven by leveraged buying rather than sustained demand in the spot market, массове liquidation of positions can lead to a very sharp correction.
Right now, what I most want to understand is:
Is this IDOL surge the beginning of a new wave of gains, or a sharp swing driven by short-term capital?
A gain of nearly 90% in a single day is certainly impressive. But the faster the rally, the more important it is to understand who will take the baton last.
If you had only just learned about IDOL today, would you buy into the rally or wait for the first pullback before deciding?
