🇻🇳 Proposal to invest in infrastructure so Vietnam’s stock market can trade through lunch, with a view to 24/7 trading
At a National Assembly discussion session on October 28, delegate Trần Hoàng Ngân proposed modernizing the stock market’s technology infrastructure to ensure safe and continuous operations, moving toward eliminating the lunch break and eventually enabling 24/7 trading.
The State Securities Commission is also studying options for trading through lunch, adjusting price fluctuation limits, and holding certain periodic order-matching sessions. Stock exchanges have been asked to assess the impact before developing a roadmap.
For now, these remain proposals and matters under study, with no official implementation date. The move toward 24/7 trading has also not been approved.
