Checking the charts tonight, even Caishen was stumped by these numbers: $ETH to $BTC is now just 0.02899, down another 0.172% in 24 hours. Ether underperformed Bitcoin today—Caishen is willing to say that outright.

Even crazier, everything is in the red. Bitcoin is down 1.531% over 24 hours, while the median altcoin is down 2.057%. Bitcoin’s drop is relatively mild; altcoins have been hit even harder. Where did all the people who usually say altcoins are due for a catch-up rally go?

Caishen’s taking a side today: this time, altcoins’ catch-up drop is dragging the whole market down, while Bitcoin is just weakening along with them. Two questions are on the table: first, are altcoins falling harder than Bitcoin because they’re catching down, or is the whole market weakening together? Second, Ether is still losing ground to Bitcoin—is that underperformance set to continue, or are we in for a new script?

Caishen’s putting it out there: altcoins’ catch-up drop is dragging the whole market down. If you think the broader market is weakening across the board, come argue your case. And while you’re at it, I’m pinning #BTC #Ethereum. Tonight, Caishen will count which side is loudest in the comments.
