【In a nutshell】
The European session brought a four-hour recovery, but not the volume.
Over the 4-hour window, seven of the ten coins rose and three fell (TON -0.99%, BNB -0.34%, XRP -0.12%), which looked like the sell-off was stabilizing. Widen the window to 12 hours and all ten coins closed lower, with the weakest, ADA and AVAX, down 3.01% and 3.04%, respectively. Over 24 hours, nine fell and one rose. In terms of trading volume, all coins except BNB, at 1.23 times its 7-day average, were below their 7-day averages. BTC and ETH were at just 40%, and TON at only 5%. Bears aren’t accelerating, but bulls aren’t stepping in either: this is a low-volume standoff. (Data snapshot: 18:00 Beijing time)
【Market Overview: $BTC】
80204, 24h -1.63%, 4h +0.29%, 12h -1.32%.
The intraday range was 79710–81789, just 2.6% from low to high, making this the narrowest day in recent days. The first MA resistance above the current price is MA7 at 80691, followed by MA25 at 82211, still -2.44% away. The lower Bollinger Band at 79588 is just $616 below; beyond that is the 30-day low at 79221.
RSI is 42.9, neutral to weak; the MACD histogram is -236.8, still below zero with no clear contraction. Bollinger Band position is 13.8%, the 30-day percentile is 12.3%, and ATR is 2.24%—the lowest volatility among the ten coins. Low volatility combined with low volume usually means the direction will be determined by external factors rather than emerging from the market itself.
The conditions for bulls and bears are clear: a 4-hour close above 80691 with volume recovering to above the 7-day average would confirm that the European-session recovery is valid. A break below 79710 would put the lower Bollinger Band at 79588 to the test again; below that, the next level is 79221.
【Second-Tier Group: <c-39/>SOL XRP】
ETH is at 2321, 24h -2.18%, 4h +0.34%. At midday, the price was still hugging MA99 at 2339.8; it has now clearly fallen $19 below it, marking the first time in this move that two consecutive periods have confirmed a break below the long-term moving average. Bollinger Band position is 12.4%, the 30-day percentile is 7.9%, and the 30-day low at 2282 is -1.7% from the current price. RSI is 35.4, seven points below BTC’s. Weakness is clearly stratified.
SOL is at 100.32, -2.60%, 4h +0.23%. The 100 level has barely held, but the lower Bollinger Band at 98.83 and the 30-day low at 98.62 almost overlap, forming a narrow support zone just $0.20 wide. If it breaks, there is no structure below. Volume is at 47% of average, and the rebound has no backing from buyers.
XRP is at 1.2926, -2.91%, 4h -0.12%, the only second-tier coin still falling during the European session. MA99 at 1.3023 has turned from support into resistance, with the price 0.7% below it. The only bullish signal is a positive MACD histogram at +0.0015—the momentum is fading, but the price has not followed, a classic case of momentum flattening without a rebound. Bollinger Band position is 23.6%, relatively high for this group.
【Platforms and Payments: <c-59/>TON】
BNB is at 749.7, -0.50%, 4h -0.34%. It has pulled back from 758 at midday to below 750, but it still has three “only” distinctions: it is the only coin with MA7 (745.09) above MA25 (743.44), the only one with a positive MACD histogram (+2.37), and the only one with volume above the 7-day average (1.23 times). Bollinger Band position has retreated from 92.7% to 76.1%, back inside the channel after hugging the upper band. The uptrend remains intact, but its short-term upside momentum has already played out. The 24h high of 762.2 is a ceiling from recent days, while the 30-day high of 809.99 is still 7.45% away.
TON is at 1.60, +0.95%, the only one of the ten coins to close higher over 24 hours. But this gain is not reliable: volume is only 5% of the 7-day average, essentially no trading. The price is above MA7 at 1.5814, but remains below MA25 at 1.646 and MA99 at 1.631; the rebound has not even reached the first medium-term moving average. Its 4h change of -0.99% shows it actually pulled back during the European session.
【High-Beta Laggards: DOGE ADA AVAX LINK】
DOGE is at 0.0783, -2.81%, 4h +0.29%. MA7 at 0.0783 exactly matches the current price, indicating no direction. Volume is at 31%, second-lowest among the ten coins. Bollinger Band position is 27.5%, the highest in this laggard group, but with volume so low, that reading has little meaning.
ADA is at 0.1999, -3.85%, the weakest coin today. The 24h low of 0.1956 coincides exactly with the 30-day low—today it hit a new 30-day low. Its 30-day percentile is 5.0%, and it is -29.21% from the 30-day high of 0.2824. RSI at 33.4 is near oversold, while ATR of 5.23% means there is still 5% room for intraday swings. Its 4h gain of +0.91% is the strongest rebound among the ten coins, but less than a third of its loss.
AVAX is at 8.74, -3.44%. Its 24h low of 8.559 is also the 30-day low, marking a new intraday low. MA25 at 9.855 is 11.35% above, too far away to be a useful short-term reference. The current price is still 4.6% above MA99 at 8.349, its only relative advantage.
LINK is at 11.51, -3.06%, 4h +0.66%. Its 24h low of 11.289 is just 0.8% above the 30-day low of 11.2, so it has managed to hold. MA99 at 11.314 is just 1.7% below the current price, making LINK the only coin in this group still above its long-term moving average. RSI is 39.4 and volume is at 50% of average; it is weak, but has not broken down.
【Key Market Themes】
Three themes.
First, volume is the key issue. Nine of the ten coins are below their 7-day average volume; BTC and ETH are both down to just 40%, while ADA’s 88% is the highest in the laggard group. A decline on shrinking volume signals that selling pressure is drying up, not that buyers are returning. Treating it outright as a bottom signal could be premature.
Second, weakness is stratified. BNB is independent (bullish moving-average alignment, positive MACD, rising volume); BTC is neutral to weak (RSI 42.9, holding 80,000); ETH/SOL/XRP are moderately weak (RSI 35–40, lost MA99 or are near their 30-day lows); ADA/AVAX are deeply weak (at new 30-day lows, around the 5th percentile). This stratification determines the rebound order: BNB first, then BTC, and the laggards last.
Third, the European-session recovery is sideways rather than upward. All seven coins turned positive on the 4h chart, but none gained more than 1% (ADA 0.91%, LINK 0.66%), while all closed lower over 12 hours. This is not a counterattack; it is a wait for the U.S. session.
【Trading Reference】
For positions ahead of the U.S. market open, follow three principles: “stay light, scale in, keep some in reserve”:
First, stay light. BTC’s ATR is only 2.24%, meaning a move of $1,800 around 80,000 is normal for a day. A heavy position leaves no room for error.
Second, scale in. Those looking to go long should wait for a 4-hour close above 80691 and a recovery in volume before acting. The first target is 82211 (MA25), with a stop below 79588. Those looking to go short should wait for a more reasonable entry near 82211; don’t chase the price at intraday lows like 79710.
Third, keep some in reserve. BNB is the only asset in the group with both volume and momentum, but it has retreated from the upper band back into the channel, reducing the appeal of chasing higher. A pullback to around MA7 at 745 is preferable to chasing above 750. With the four laggards at new 30-day lows, they are suitable only for observation, not averaging down.
【Risk Warning】
Three overnight risks:
First, there are only $367 between BTC’s lower Bollinger Band at 79588 and its 30-day low at 79221. If the U.S. session sees a high-volume breakdown, both levels could give way on the same candle, opening up room below 79,000.
Second, ADA and AVAX are already at 30-day lows, at the 5.0th and 5.6th percentiles. A low percentile does not mean it is safe; after a breakdown, there is often another round of liquidity sweeps.
Third, TON’s volume at 5% of its 7-day average is itself a liquidity risk. At this trading level, the price is not a reliable reference, and any slightly larger order could trigger a sharp wick.
The above is a summary of market data and does not constitute investment advice. Spot and futures trading are both undertaken at your own risk. Please manage your position size and leverage.
