Institutional investors are buying Bitcoin again!
📢 According to the latest data, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs saw net inflows of about $137 million on October 28, marking a third consecutive trading day of net inflows and pushing October’s cumulative flows back into positive territory.
Who’s behind this wave of buying? BlackRock, as usual.
Its Bitcoin ETF, IBIT, attracted about $136 million in a single day, accounting for the vast majority of that day’s net inflows. Bitwise’s fund saw inflows of about $1.3 million. In other words, money is indeed coming back, but for now it’s concentrated in a handful of products. It’s too early to say that all institutions are increasing their holdings in unison.
💡 Why is this worth paying attention to?
Bitcoin ETFs had previously seen substantial outflows, and October briefly slipped back into net outflows. Three consecutive days of inflows suggest that some investors are starting to allocate to Bitcoin again, while market sentiment is also improving.
However, ETF inflows don’t mean Bitcoin is about to rise. Flows can change along with prices and market sentiment, and this round of buying is still fairly concentrated. If other funds also see sustained inflows in the coming days, that would be a stronger sign that institutional demand is broadening.
📌 There are two key things to watch next: whether ETFs can sustain net inflows, and whether those flows spread from a single product to more funds. Inflows over a day or two can lift sentiment, but sustained demand is a more meaningful signal.
Understanding ETF flows isn’t about trading every data point—it’s about watching whether institutional money is truly changing direction.
