Bitcoin ETFs attract inflows while Ether ETFs continue to see outflows: the market is diverging

During the US session on 28/10/2026, according to Farside Investors:
• Spot Bitcoin ETFs saw net inflows of $137.3 million
• Spot Ether ETFs saw net outflows of $21.4 million

This was the Bitcoin group’s third consecutive session of net inflows, while Ether saw its third consecutive session of net outflows. Across the sessions from 26–28/10, Bitcoin attracted $423.6 million, while Ether saw $170.2 million in outflows.

There were differences within each group, too. On 28/10, IBIT attracted $136 million—nearly all of the Bitcoin group’s net inflows. For Ether, ETHA saw $44.8 million in outflows, while FETH still attracted $18.8 million.

My take: the data doesn’t yet show buying strength spreading evenly across ETFs. Reading a headline like “crypto attracts inflows” would overlook the differences between the two assets and between funds.

We also can’t conclude that money withdrawn from Ether ETFs moved into Bitcoin ETFs: the two flow tables don’t show whether the investors were the same.

I’ll be watching the persistence and breadth of these flows in the coming sessions. ETFs offer one snapshot of demand, not the entire market or a definitive price signal.

Do you see this as a temporary preference for Bitcoin, or are you still waiting for Ether to get confirmation from flows?
