#比特币ETF Switzerland has finally taken real action: on October 20, FINMA approved the country’s first retail ETF to invest directly in Bitcoin. The one launched in 2021 was only available to qualified investors; now ordinary people can buy in through regulated channels too.
Interestingly, the regulator also made a special allowance: Bitcoin’s track record and liquidity were deemed sufficient, so the ETF doesn’t have to meet the usual diversification requirements and can invest solely in $BTC . But FINMA also made clear that this doesn’t mean it’s low-risk—the liquidity risks and possibility of losses are still very much there.
Regulated channels are opening up, and the barriers to entry for retail investors really are coming down.
