Everyone, I’m about to open a large long position on $GOOGL .

Take profit: 302.8964

Stop loss: 290.7589 👇

You may be wondering the obvious question: why am I going long here?

First, let’s look at the price level.

The latest 15-minute candle closed at 293.94.

The 20-day range is 288.22 to 359.96. The current price is at the 8.0th percentile, with just one step left below and a wide-open space above.

Down 9.22% over seven days, it’s been drifting lower the whole way, with nobody willing to step in first.

At the 8th percentile, it costs more to push the price lower than to pull it back up.

The take-profit is 302.8964, 3.05% above the current price, based on the lower of the 12-hour opposing extreme and the daily average volatility.

The stop-loss is 290.7589, 1.08% below the current price. There’s a 0.5% buffer beyond the 6-hour extreme—like laying down a cushion downstairs in advance.

The risk-reward ratio is 2.82. The stop is tight and there’s little room for error, so the entry level has to be right.

Daily average volatility is 3.05%. Both the take-profit and stop-loss are within that range; the rules can’t be broken.

Honestly, at first glance I thought it would keep leaking lower. I checked twice before believing it had held at the 8.0th percentile.

After a week of grinding along the lows, it’s like a reservoir sitting below the sluice gate: the gate won’t open, and the water isn’t moving either.

At this percentile, what’s in shortest supply is positioning, not a narrative.

When the water level is low, the loose hands are the first to move. Once they come out, the market’s structure becomes visible.

Once buyers step back in, the stretch closest to the gate is the first to rise, and new money will only recognize that level first.

Do you think this percentile can hold? Let’s discuss in the comments.
