$VST Everyone is still focused on popular stocks like semiconductors, SanDisk, and SK Hynix. I think now could be a good time to build a position in another sector: power. Previously, the market mostly focused on GPUs, memory, and AI software, but the expansion of data centers raises another unavoidable question: where will the electricity come from? I’m looking closely at three stocks:
VST: A power generator that could benefit from increased electricity demand from data centers and long-term power purchase agreements. CEG: A nuclear power leader whose strength lies in providing reliable electricity. GEV: Gas turbines and grid equipment. Its latest quarterly orders totaled about $29.3 billion, with a backlog of about $197 billion, providing tangible evidence of demand. Potential catalysts: Growing AI power demand, grid upgrades, increased equipment orders, and long-term power supply agreements. Potential risks: High U.S. Treasury yields, project delays, excessive valuations, changes in energy policy, and AI capital spending falling short of expectations.
My plan: Start building positions in VST, CEG, and GEV. I won’t invest my entire position all at once; I’ll build in stages once prices stabilize and the risk-reward ratio is attractive. I’ll continue to track this sector and share a trading plan when prices are favorable and I have a clear stop-loss.
