According to Jin10, the pound came under renewed selling pressure against the dollar during Thursday’s Asian session, as a broadly stronger greenback stalled its rebound from the 1.3275–1.3270 area, a nearly two-week low. The pair fell to around 1.3300 in the latest hour, but the lack of sustained selling meant bearish traders remained cautious. Markets continued to bet on another Federal Reserve rate hike this year amid inflation risks from elevated energy prices, and the dollar regained ground after falling following the Fed’s rate decision the previous day. According to CME Group’s FedWatch tool, traders currently see about an 80% chance of another rate hike in December. Ongoing geopolitical uncertainty also supported the safe-haven dollar, putting some downward pressure on the pound-dollar pair. Meanwhile, expectations that the Bank of England may tighten monetary policy could help limit the pair’s downside.$BTC
