What exactly is restaking?
Restaking means using ETH that has already been staked, or liquid staking tokens, to help secure other services and earn additional yield. EigenLayer is a leading restaking protocol deployed on Ethereum.
The additional yield from restaking comes with additional risks: the same ETH is exposed to slashing risks on both Ethereum and AVSs, as well as risks from multiple layers of smart contracts.
