BTC Perpetuals Night Session: Positioning Comes Before Direction

In the futures market, I only watch how crowded the trade is—not chat groups.

Check positioning for crowding first, then look at price.

BTC open interest: $7.78 billion, 24h +1.08%
All-account long/short ratio: 1.92
BTC 81,216 (+0.39%), ETH 2,358 (+0.36%).

Funding rate is 0.0100%, close to zero. The long/short ratio is 1.92; leverage has picked no side. If it hasn’t picked a side, don’t use high leverage to pick one for it.

Key levels: upside 81,866, downside 79,754. Keep one-sided exposure to no more than 2x account equity. Place stop-losses beyond the structure, not at round-number levels that just feel right.

One futures-market outlook: if the 1h candle doesn’t close above 81823, cancel all breakout orders.

Data: Binance spot 24h / Binance USDⓈ-M / Yahoo daily (5-day change) / altme_fng / mempool_fees / defillama_chains / coingecko_trending. Missing figures are not filled in.
When meme coins aren't outperforming BTC, are you still holding them?

Useful tip: when the mark price and index price diverge, liquidations hit the thinner side first.
Thought: Open interest falls while price stays flat: reducing positions isn’t accumulation; the direction hasn’t proven itself yet.
