Meme short-term sentiment: how’s it looking today?

If the leader isn’t seeing volume, I’m not listening to any small-cap coin stories.

For memes, first check whether the leader has volume, then see whether the smaller coins dare to follow.

PEPE 0.00000486 (+8.72%), DOGE 0.0796 (+1.50%), SHIB 0.00000495 (+1.43%), WIF 0.1827 (+1.11%)

For comparison: BTC 81030 (24h +0.40%).

PEPE’s 24h gain of +8.72% is clearly stronger than BTC’s +0.40%, indicating independent buying. But BONK is up only +0.97%, so there’s no sector-wide confirmation. I’m only trading the leader, not chasing fantasies of catch-up gains.

BTC is still at 81030 (+0.40%). Until BTC gets above 81,678, I’m treating meme coins’ moves to the upside as noise.

If the gap between the leader and the weakest coin narrows to within 2 percentage points, independent buying has disappeared, and I’ll close the position.

When memes aren’t outperforming BTC, are you still holding them?

Useful fact: BTC settlement finality relies on the longest chain, not on whoever in the group chat is first to call a rally.
Thought: Fear and Greed >75: things are lively, but don’t add leverage on the first tranche.
