⏸️ The Fed stood pat, keeping rates pinned at 3.75%–4%, but the 10–2 vote concealed some disagreement.

At 2 a.m. Beijing time today, the Fed announced its October decision: the target range for the federal funds rate remains unchanged at 3.75%–4%.
This is the first pause since the 25-basis-point rate hike in September, and it was in line with market expectations of over 90%.
The dissenting votes came from Cook and Hammack, both of whom wanted another 25-basis-point hike this time.
When the news broke, Bitcoin was trading at $80,989.77, up 0.59% over 24 hours (Finnhub real-time Binance price).

My take: standing pat doesn’t mean turning dovish. Inflation is still running hot, and the statement went out of its way to emphasize that inflation remains elevated.
The real thing to watch is Warsh’s press conference half an hour later. How he explains the pause is key.

What I’m doing: I’m not chasing the move or selling off on decision night. I’ll wait for Warsh’s remarks at 2:30 to set the tone before deciding on direction.
What would invalidate this view: if he sends a strong signal of a December hike, I’ll treat this rally as a false move for now.

Which side are you on: another hike in December, or are they done?
