Buying the dip is a strategy; knowing how to manage your capital is key.
Staggered buying makes a lot of sense for those of us who invest for the long term. Splitting our capital across several purchases lets us take advantage of potential corrections without risking everything at a single price.
However, there’s something we mustn’t forget: support levels aren’t guarantees, and the market doesn’t always return to the prices we expect.
My approach would be to keep part of my capital invested, set another part aside to take advantage of opportunities, and, above all, define the rules before volatility hits.
If the market falls, we have liquidity to buy. If it rises without pulling back, we already have exposure.
The key isn’t to guess the bottom, but to build a strategy we can stick to even when the market becomes unpredictable.
