Wall Street just went onchain, for real this time.

DTCC, the giant that clears and custodies over $114 trillion in US securities, has launched its Tokenization Service. At launch, 34 securities are eligible: large-cap Russell 1000 stocks, ETFs and US Treasuries worth roughly $30 trillion, each backed 1:1 by assets held at DTC, keeping the same CUSIP, ownership rights and investor protections.

20 heavyweights already signed up: JPMorgan, Citi, Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, UBS, Fidelity, State Street and Citadel Securities among them. Transfers run 24/7 between registered wallets, starting on the Canton Network ($CC ) and DTCC's private Besu chain, with Stellar and Circle's Arc planned for 2027.

This matters because tokenization stops being a side experiment the moment the plumbing itself goes live. The $30 trillion figure is eligible value, not volume moved. Adoption will be gradual, access is permissioned and institutional-only for now, and settlement in digital cash is still on the roadmap, not live today. But the direction is now undeniable: the rails of traditional finance are being rebuilt on blockchain.

Tokenized stocks are no longer a crypto pitch. They are Wall Street infrastructure.
