【Up 0.9% in 24 hours, but no volume: TRX hasn’t reached extreme fear territory yet】

TRX is currently at 0.3310, up 0.9% over 24 hours and down a slight 0.3% over 7 days, with low volume. Well, this is just a test of support—not big money closing in. The F&G index is at 51; we’re nowhere near fear, let alone extreme fear.

During the extreme fear of 2018, TRX plunged from above $0.20 to around $0.02, losing over 90%. Then, in the 2022 downturn, it slid from $0.12 to $0.05. Cheap doesn’t mean it’s hit bottom. In extreme fear, there’s no shortage of “halving, then halving again.”

So who’s actually affected? Holders, validators, and liquidity providers. If demand for transfers and stablecoin settlement holds up, cheap tokens could attract long-term capital. But if demand also fades, buying the dip means catching the knife for the whales—and the business case doesn’t add up. Are whales quietly accumulating? There’s no volume to back that up right now, so I’m not buying it; at most, this looks like tokens changing hands.

My conditions for buying the dip in extreme fear: the Fear & Greed Index enters the extreme zone, 0.320768 holds and is reclaimed on rising volume, on-chain activity doesn’t collapse, and whales show consecutive net inflows. Miss even one, and this could just be another leg down. What I learned after 2017 isn’t how to predict the market—it’s to wait a beat when I get itchy to trade.

Your turn: Would you buy the dip during extreme fear? Itching to trade right now?
