Birch Hill has completed a $4 million seed round led by Multicoin Capital, with participation from ParaFi, Castle Island Ventures, and Nascent, bringing total funding to $6.5 million.
It is now the official vault curator for Morpho, assessing credit risk and setting risk parameters; at the same time, it has applied to FINRA for broker-dealer status, which must be approved before it can sell private credit to qualified investors. The goal is to bundle and securitize U.S. multifamily housing, agricultural, and energy loans on-chain.
The bottleneck for RWA is often not putting assets on-chain, but distribution—who can legally sell to whom. Three team members come from Yearn and one from Gauntlet, so the risk-management foundation is already in place; when FINRA approves that license will say more about progress than the $4 million itself.
