HK$8.85 billion in orders—one full quarter booked.
ASMPT booked HK$8.85 billion in new orders in the third quarter, equivalent to US$1.13 billion, up 137.9% year over year. Revenue was HK$5.25 billion, up 48.7%. Orders were 1.69 times revenue, the highest ratio since the first quarter of 2021.
Orders are running ahead of revenue.
Which segment is growing? Semiconductor equipment orders rose 156.3% year over year, while SMT orders set records for three consecutive quarters. The key driver is TCB thermocompression bonding, which stacks HBM onto AI accelerators.
Put simply, making a chip is only half the job. If it can’t be stacked and packaged, its computing power is just a number on paper. AI data centers are waiting for exactly this process: aligning logic chips, HBM and optical modules, pressing them together, and sealing them in place.
Fourth-quarter revenue guidance is US$670 million to US$730 million, with the midpoint up 37.5% year over year.
The key question now is whether orders can be converted into revenue on schedule. Delivery lead times are already getting longer.
