Why do people say the wise don’t fall in love?
Because once you reach a certain level of understanding, it becomes hard to fall in love with someone again. Today, I’m sharing *Siddhartha*.
Love is a sense of adoration born from an imbalance of information. But once you see things from an all-knowing perspective, that adoration disappears.
When you reach a certain level of understanding, the vast world no longer looks lively and dazzling—you see only the suffering of all living beings. You realize that most people are worthy of pity. Many may seem to have it all together, but when you get to know them deeply, you discover that their hearts are already shattered.
You see that every heart longs to be understood, and every soul needs to be saved. Gradually, you let go of worldly attachments and develop compassion.
Because the human world is just one mess after another. People talk about the same old things: greed, anger, delusion, arrogance, and doubt; fame, fortune, power, and passion; pride and prejudice. It’s all repetitive and utterly unoriginal. $SOL
