Over the past 4 hours, Binance futures saw $12.72 million in liquidations: $1.74 million in long positions (13.7%) and $10.98 million in short positions.
After liquidations, I usually look at three things:
① Which side was liquidated more: mostly shorts, suggesting the upward move triggered short covering;
② The largest liquidation was $BTC ($5.15 million); price swings afterward are usually the most volatile around it;
③ Whether open interest fell afterward: a decline means positions were indeed cleared out, while little change suggests new positions are building up.
Areas with concentrated liquidations often become focal points in the tug-of-war between bulls and bears.
