💸 Trading fees: the little thing that loves eating into your profits.

When you’re just starting out, you look at the result of a trade and think: “Oh, I’m in the green! I made money!” 😎

But there’s a catch: the profit from a price move isn’t the final result.

With futures, fees may be charged when you open and close a position. And if you hold a position for a long time, funding may also apply in some cases.

And this is where it gets interesting: you can make several profitable trades but end up with a much smaller result than you expected.

Especially if you:
🐭 open and close positions often;
🐭 trade large volumes;
🐭 take very small profits;
🐭 don’t factor fees into your trade planning.

What should you do?
✔️ Check the actual fees in your trade history.
✔️ Calculate your results after all trading costs.
✔️ Before entering a trade, assess whether the potential profit is worth the risk and costs.

Fees don’t make trading unprofitable on their own. But if you ignore them, you can spend a long time celebrating profitable trades without understanding why your balance is growing more slowly than expected.
🐱 Have you ever calculated how much you pay in fees each week?
