Microsoft’s own revenue guidance is $89.85 billion to $90.95 billion
Wall Street consensus is around $90.7 billion
EPS is roughly $4.72
Results are due after the close on October 28, Eastern Time
Azure constant-currency growth guidance is around 45%
Capital expenditures need to cross the $50 billion mark this quarter
Last quarter, Azure growth had already climbed from 39% to 43%
This time, the market isn’t looking to hear the AI story all over again
It wants to see whether capacity can keep up with orders
And whether paid Copilot seats are turning into real dollars
After the useful life of data center equipment was extended from 15 years to 25
Reported profits get a boost from the accounting treatment
So growth is only the first half of the game
Margins and free cash flow are the second half
My view is firm
Revenue meeting or slightly beating expectations can be the base case
But if guidance and capex commentary turn tough
The stock can still get punished after hours
For the AI boom to count as delivering
You can’t just look at whether Azure’s growth percentage looks good
You have to see whether this compute bill of more than $50 billion
Is starting to generate cash on the income statement
When capacity can’t keep up with orders, growth is buoyed by “excess demand”
But once data centers come online and the capacity goes unsold
That same growth percentage can turn against you in an instant
