A genuine breakout is usually accompanied by a surge in volume; a false breakout often isn't. This is the filter I use most often.
For example: a 4.46% plunge to 0.02995 over $HAEDAL 5 minutes. Don't mistake short-term fluctuations for a trend, or a long-term direction for an overnight move.
