Many airdrops use an address snapshot taken at a specific point in time to determine who is eligible and how much they can claim.
Honestly, I hadn’t noticed this before either: “Pay a fee upfront to get an airdrop” and “Enter your seed phrase to claim” are both scams. Close them immediately if you see them.
