$BTC It held up on rate-decision day—recovering from around $79,500 overnight looks more like buyers stepping in below $80,000 than a one-sided short squeeze.
OKX spot price is around $80,900, up about 1.1% over 24 hours, with a high and low of roughly $81,300 and $79,500. The Fear and Greed Index is around 51 (neutral). U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs saw net inflows of about $110 million on the 26th (almost entirely into IBIT), followed by another roughly $24.5 million in inflows on the 27th, halting the previous outflow surge of about $770 million over two days. Buyers are stepping in above the round-number mark, but a high-volume breakout has yet to materialize.
On the U.S. side, the FOMC rate decision is due tonight into the early hours. Markets are heavily pricing in no change; the real volatility will depend on the statement’s tone and any hints beyond the dot plot. In the short term, watch whether BTC can hold between $80,000 and $81,300. If it fails, $79,500 is the next area to watch; on a move higher, keep an eye on $82,500, where former support has turned into resistance.
After the rate decision, do you think it’ll first break above 81.3K, or keep chopping around 80K for a few more days?
