Robinhood’s Q3 results are a mixed bag: revenue hit a record $1.42 billion, up 12% year over year, but net income fell 14% to $476 million, and earnings per share came in at $0.51, down from $0.61 a year earlier. The biggest blow: crypto trading revenue was cut in half, plunging 55% year over year to just $120 million. What helped make up the difference was $867 million in transaction-based revenue, up 19%, plus $173 million in prediction market revenue. The stock closed at $94.56 before the earnings report, up 1.85%, but fell to $90.22 after hours, down 4.59%. Put simply, retail trading platforms are no longer relying on crypto. Crypto may be cooling off, but earnings can still hit record highs. #USEarnings
