Seagate reported revenue up 61% year over year, EPS beat expectations, and it raised its guidance—yet the stock fell about 5.5% after hours to 631 (low of 609), still about 45% below its June high of 1145. I’m not catching this falling knife.

What I saw: STX’s adjusted EPS of $7.68 beat expectations, and revenue was $4.23 billion, up 61% year over year. Next-quarter guidance also came in above consensus. It closed at 667.85 (+3.7%), then pulled back to around 631 after hours, with a low of 609. On the daily chart, it’s still below the MA20 at around 747.

My take: Getting slammed despite a beat suggests the AI hard-drive story was already priced in during the run-up. This isn’t the place to catch a falling knife.

What I’m doing: Staying out. I’ll take another look if it gets back above the daily MA20 at around 747. If it breaks below the after-hours low of 609, I’ll take that as a sign the selling pressure isn’t over.
