At 6:30 a.m., $BTC is poking its head above the top of the range again.
After repeatedly testing 80844 over the past couple of days, it finally broke above it briefly early this morning, reaching a high of 81300. It’s now at 80933, hovering near the top of the range again. Honestly, that breakout felt a little weak: it got above the level but couldn’t hold, and after pulling back it hasn’t fallen below it either. Bulls and bears are both sitting inside the range, yawning. Neither wants to make the first move ahead of the rate decision.
$ETH looks a little more lively than BTC, at 2350, up 1.77% over 24 hours, with a high of 2364 and a low of 2297. It’s following BTC, but half a step ahead. $SOL 101.32 and BNB at 745.54 are also slightly in the green—not falling behind, but not sprinting ahead either.
The Fear and Greed Index is at 48, while the Plaza widget shows 46. Both readings are neutral: no one’s panicking, and no one’s euphoric.
The interesting action is on the gainers’ board: HAEDAL has climbed another notch, up 39.4% over 24 hours. Over the past couple of days, it was gaining 28% or 30%; this time it’s pushed its gains up another level. BANK at 24.7% and REZ at 16.2% are close behind. Small caps are taking turns in the spotlight while BTC grinds away inside the range—and they’re each more volatile than the last.
The rate decision comes out at 2 a.m. tomorrow. The market is still betting on no change, with the 3.75%–4% range likely to stay put. The real drama will be in the remarks and wording at 2:30.
The top of the range at 80844 has been breached halfway; 81300 is today’s high, while the lower boundary is still around 79506 and 79451. Until the shoe drops, don’t get too comfortable inside the range.
