The Fed’s 2-day meeting starts today, and the decision comes tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct 29. According to CME FedWatch, there’s a 97% chance rates will stay on hold at 4.00%–4.25%. That means no rate cut, but Powell’s speech will decide everything.
Why is the market nervous?
Last week, Bitcoin ETFs saw $774M in outflows, BTC dropped to $79,400, and there were $800M+ in liquidations. But this Monday, $110M flowed back in, helping BTC hold $80k.
Historically, BTC moves up or down by $1,000–$1,500 during every FOMC week. It’ll be the same this time too.
My FOMC plan is simple:
1. Don’t use leverage before the Fed’s announcement
2. DCA in the $79k–$79.5k support zone
3. Wait for a breakout after Powell’s speech; resistance is at $80.7k–$81.1k
Remember, when the Fed holds rates, the market usually drops first, then runs up fast. Smart people accumulate early.
