【Ethereum Can’t Hold $2,300—Is This Downturn Over Yet?】

$ETH These past few days have offered no respite. On October 21, ETH was still around $2,470, but it then fell steadily, hitting a low of about $2,295 on October 26 and briefly breaking below the $2,300 mark. The latest price has bounced back to around $2,310, but whether it can catch its breath depends on what happens next.

More concerning, the rebound has yet to recover the losses from the past few days. ETH is down about 3%–4% over the past week and about 14% over the past month. Related liquidation data from CoinGlass also shows that if ETH falls below $2,209, the cumulative liquidation intensity for long positions across major exchanges could reach about $978 million. Note that this is a potential liquidation amount, not funds that have already been liquidated.

So the key thing to watch right now isn’t the $2,300 level itself, but whether ETH can quickly reclaim it if it falls below, and whether any rebound is backed by trading volume. If it repeatedly fails to hold above $2,300, leveraged positions around $2,200 will be a concern. If it gets back above $2,400 and holds, the short-term weakness may begin to ease. It’s too early to call this a confirmed reversal, and bargain hunters shouldn’t assume that a steep price drop means a rise is inevitable.
