Breaking: Barclays has upgraded Tesla to “Overweight,” raising its price target from $370 to $450.
The reason is straightforward: the market widely expects SpaceX to merge with Tesla, and possibly at a premium.
On Monday, Tesla closed at $391.62, up 5.21% on the day.
Trading volume was 53.1 million shares, about 47% above the 30-day average of 36 million.
Within one day, market value increased by about $77 billion.
Barclays estimates that at a $450 share-exchange ratio, each Tesla share would be worth about 3.1 SpaceX shares.
After the merger, Musk’s voting power would be about 53%.
But if the merger falls through, Barclays’ bearish scenario is $250.
On the core business side, more than 75% of North American deliveries in the third quarter were equipped with FSD.

Key level: if $TSLAB holds, watch for a challenge of 398, the previous high; if it breaks below 390, don’t rush to buy yet.
There isn’t even a shadow of merger terms yet, but the stock price has already eaten up half of the premium. If you rush in now, be careful not to become the bagholder helping others exit.
