Did you know? On Binance you can now short the China A-share STAR 50!!! Taking advantage of the sharp drop in tech stocks over the past few days, I went short a little on October 27 and made some coffee money😂
【What is KSTR】
- Binance perpetual contract $KSTR was launched on July 2, tracking the U.S.-listed KSTR: KraneShares STAR 50 ETF, which holds the constituent stocks of the STAR 50 index
- Even when the U.S. market is closed, the contract still trades 24 hours a day: on October 27, the STAR 50 fell 4.81%, and while KSTR hadn’t opened in the U.S. yet, the Binance contract had already dropped from 19.43 to 18.57
- Funding rates are settled every 8 hours; most of the recent periods were 0, and the next period is estimated at -0.07%. The short side pays the long side, so the funding cost is still acceptable
【Liquidity】
- 24-hour trading volume is about 6.3 million USD, and open interest is about 5.7 million USD
- The bid-ask spread is about 0.1%; orders within 1% above or below the price are only in the range of a few hundred thousand USD
- Small entries and exits are fine, but large orders will experience noticeable slippage
Leveraged contracts are very risky; this is not investment advice. If you also want to give it a try, it’s better to start with a small amount~
