Bitcoin short-term holders continue transferring tokens to exchanges at a loss. On October 27, the 24-hour net inflow balance for the “Short-Term Holder Net Profit” metric was negative 18,600 BTC, meaning 18,600 more BTC were transferred at a loss than at a profit. A week earlier, the balance was positive 10,400 BTC.

On October 26, the balance had fallen to negative 23,100 BTC. It has since narrowed but remains negative, as it has been since August this year. The metric tracks exchange inflows of tokens held for less than six months; a negative value indicates that transfers at a loss predominate. For the week ending October 27, the share of profitable transfers among short-term holder exchange inflows plunged from 75% to 16%.
