#股票财报季 #U.S. Earnings

Around 7 p.m. tonight, $SOFI reports earnings (Beijing time; the conference call is at 8 p.m.; before the U.S. market opens).

There’s something pretty odd: all three times this year, EPS beat expectations, but the stock fell the next day. Down 6.4% in January, 15.4% in April, and 8.9% in July.

This time, the market expects EPS of $0.17 and revenue of around $1.26 billion, up 32% year over year. The company hasn’t provided quarterly guidance; its full-year adjusted revenue guidance is $4.75–$4.85 billion. Options are pricing in a move of around 8%–10% in either direction.

I’m keeping an eye on two things: membership numbers and loan demand. Beating expectations on the numbers is nothing unusual anymore; the market is now looking at the quality of growth, as well as concerns about capital and valuation now that interest rates are higher.

Binance perpetuals are around 14.4 right now, with a one-month high of 18.3 and a low of 13.9. $PYPL is also reporting before the market opens today.

In a nutshell, are you betting SOFI will go up or down on earnings day? I’ll post the answer after the results come out.

For my own notes only. DYOR; this is not investment advice.
