Who should we believe: the extortionists claiming 15.4 million Gamdom accounts, or the founder saying it’s a few hundred? For now, I only believe what can be verified.
And there’s not much that can be verified right now.
WhiteArmor wants $15 million in Bitcoin and has shown a file with 100 accounts.
No one has verified the file, and there’s no public deadline.
Gamdom has neither confirmed nor denied it publicly.
As for the extortionists themselves: the group is new, appearing in trackers since October 21, and affiliates keep 95% of the ransom. Making a sensational claim costs them next to nothing.
This is Gamdom’s second hit in two weeks. The October 13 hot-wallet hack reportedly cost them between $3 million and $4.2 million.
If you’ve played there, change your passwords anyway. If you were in the casino’s shoes, would you pay, or let them publish the data?
